Purchases will stop but you can still download old games for the PlayStation 2 and PSVita.

PS3, PSVita Stores to shut down as PlayStation will close them in August 2021. This basically means you cannot buy digital copies of your favorite PS3 and PSVita games. Sony will remove the purchase function on the PlayStatoin Store for PS3, PSVita and PlayStation Portable (PSP).

Thankfully, you can still download any of your previously purchased games, videos and generally, media content.

PSP\’s purchase function removal date is July 2nd.

Other actions like cross-buy purchase will still be possible. Like buying digital products from the PlayStation stores on PS4 and PS5.

Well, that\’s good for some of us who still love some PS3 games.

News of the pending closure surfaced about a week ago on TheGamer and many feared that the closure will stop people downloading games for these platforms.

Well, that is clearly not the case now.
